Behaviour that incites and amplifies hate against individuals based on their race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability is on the rise and increasingly visible in our society. Hate crime figures are at record levels, with more than 105,000 incidents recorded in England and Wales in 2019-20, an increase of 8 per cent on the previous year*.
Westminster Insight’s ‘Tackling Hateful Extremism Digital Conference’ will bring together expert speakers and practitioners working with those vulnerable to radicalisation and the victims of hate incidents, to explore a whole-society approach to combating hateful extremism.
Social media allows extremists to spread hateful ideologies, conspiracy theories and misinformation faster and to larger audiences than ever before. Find out how to improve media literacy of individuals of all ages in your communities and tackle misinformation, with expert input from Clean Up the Internet and Shout Out UK.
Join with peers from central government, police, national and local leaders, prevent officers, teachers and front line service professionals, to network and explore how to create a safer and more inclusive society.
